The main goal of Artist Talk project, realized jointly by WRO, Musem of Transitory Art (Slovenia) i CIANT (Czech Republic) is establishing a platform for networking, education and exchange of new media and experimental art organisations by simulation and promotion of dialogue and talk in all fields of creativity.

Piotr Bosacki’s project Music Graphs is the first undertaking at the newly renovated WRO Atelier – a gallery and workshop where, as an extension of the WRO Art Center, the main theme is creative experimentation in direct contact with the public. Piotr Bosacki spending four weeks working on The Fourth Scroll – a compostion for 12 string instruments – and the Music Graphs exhibition, which will grow and change as the artist creates new sketches, graphs and scores.

During three intensive screening days the documentation WRO Flash and video programs curated by Piotr Krajewski, with works form the WRO 2011 Biennale, will be presented by Agnieszka Kubicka-Dzieduszycka at Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB).

The State of Image exhibition presents with Zbigniew Rybczyński and Gábor Bódy two media pioneers from Poland and Hungary who developed within the tradition of the first European avant-garde. Beginning in the early 1970s, both of them took on the challenges of the new media technologies in the arts – first as experimental filmmakers and then in video.

During the last day furthermore, we will announce the name of an artist who has received the biggest number of votes.

Igor Krenz’s newest works displayed in the renovated WRO Foundation work space. The display alludes to a scientific book with the same title, and the works in it use the method described in the book for processing and analyzing digital images.

The Interactive Playground exhibition, which has been experienced by over a hundred thousand viewers in major art galleries and museums, will be presented at the Old Power Station in Białystok.

It’s a pioneering project both in the technological sense and in the way the pieces interact with the public. Břetislav Pojar Retrospective

Born in 1923 in Czechoslovakia, Břetislav Pojar is a puppeteer, animator and director of short and feature films. He started his career in the late 1940s, directed by master Czech puppet animator Jiří Trnka. Pojar compiled an extensive body of work as a director and animator in Czechoslovakia, where he made films in both puppet animation to the more common stop motion animation.

In the mid-1960s he emigrated to Canada, where he began a long collaboration with the NFB. His Canadian work is some of his best known, and it has won awards at prestigious international film festivals.

The installation RGB Red-Green-Blue by Dominika Sobolewska, one of the artists who created  WRO’s Interactive Playground, will be featured at the international exhibition Color & Geometry: New European Geometric Art [Kolor i Geometria - Aktualne osiągnięcia sztuki europejskiej nurtu geometrii] at the National Museum in Kielce. The exhibition will also be shown at the Centre d’Art Contemporain Frank Popper in Marcigny, France.

The European Commission and the DCA consortium, comprising 25 European partners, have officially launched the project Digitising Contemporary Art (DCA) initiating a significant increase in the presence of contemporary art in Europeana, the single access point to Europe’s cultural heritage. Approx. 30,000 contemporary  artworks will be digitised. Poland is represented by WRO.

Panel discussions within the Rencontres Internationales festival are a presentation forum for the major contemporary art institutions from the whole world. In the Paris edition curators from 31 art centers will present their current practice. During the congress inspired by the oeuvre of Lviv-born Polish writer Stanisław Lem, scientists, artists and curators raise up the issues of understanding, programming and creating of future. The video-presentation WRO Perspective: A Few notes on Past Rendering of Now features excerpts of two visionary lectures that Jaron Lanier, the artist, scientist,author and the founder of the term Virtual Reality, gave at the WRO Biennale in 1997 and 2000.

Welcome to the next presentation of works selected from the The Hidden Decade. Polish Video Art 1985-95 collection, organized by BWA in Bydgoszcz within the framework of the ‘Academy of Art’ series.

This time we are presenting a curatorial selection entitled “Analog/Digital”.

The third edition of the Podwodny Wrocław festival is launched at the Wrocław’s Bourgeois’es Brewery (44-48 Hubska St.).

Welcome to the presentations of WRO Expanded Tour – Polish and International Video Tour – given by Paweł Janicki.

In the course of the Interactive Playground exhibition, on 8th and 9th June, Ester Polak and Ivara van Bekkum – a pair of Dutch artists invited by WRO will conduct workshops addressed to children between 8-12 years of age. GPS_Drawing Workshops teach children to create art using contemporary tools – video and GPS.

GPS_Drawings, or Geotales – telling a story by means of navigation tools is an activity in the course of which the children create their own compositions using signals collected during a walk around the city. The compositions will be later presented during the Interactive Playground.
