We are glad to announce that new installation by Paweł Janicki – New Delhi Audiograph – is presented in India during Evening of Sound on Auditions: Sound Residency 2013 at Khoj International Artists’ Association. The event is co-organized by Polish Institute New Delhi.

New Delhi Audiograph is an interactive, audiovisual installation treating some elements of the Hindi language as a structural foundation of a musical composition. Installation is also using a motion tracking system for the interaction with the audience.

…faced each other on the occasion of the exhibition in Tel Aviv in 2009. While working on it, they made plenty of spontaneous video recordings that are currently being shown (as part of the installation) in Wrocław. Three projections accounting for a complementary image/picture realised in three different conventions: from a bit surreal journey to recording of a unique performance in a closed gallery space.

When UEFA Euro 2012 championship is well under way with emotions at their peak all over Europe, German artist Kurt Fleckenstein during a simultaneous projection organized in Wrocław, Kiev and Berlin will show his newest realization that in a contentious way exploits the idea of a sport rivalry on a football pitch.

Outdoor video projection on WRO’s façade will screen a video-recorded football match staged by Fleckenstein in Kiev few days prior to the event.

The State of Image exhibition presents with Zbigniew Rybczyński and Gábor Bódy two media pioneers from Poland and Hungary who developed within the tradition of the first European avant-garde. Břetislav Pojar Retrospective

Born in 1923 in Czechoslovakia, Břetislav Pojar is a puppeteer, animator and director of short and feature films. He started his career in the late 1940s, directed by master Czech puppet animator Jiří Trnka. Pojar compiled an extensive body of work as a director and animator in Czechoslovakia, where he made films in both puppet animation to the more common stop motion animation.

In the mid-1960s he emigrated to Canada, where he began a long collaboration with the NFB. His Canadian work is some of his best known, and it has won awards at prestigious international film festivals.

The installation RGB Red-Green-Blue by Dominika Sobolewska, one of the artists who created  WRO’s Interactive Playground, will be featured at the international exhibition Color & Geometry: New European Geometric Art [Kolor i Geometria - Aktualne osiągnięcia sztuki europejskiej nurtu geometrii] at the National Museum in Kielce. The exhibition will also be shown at the Centre d’Art Contemporain Frank Popper in Marcigny, France.

The European Commission and the DCA consortium, comprising 25 European partners, have officially launched the project Digitising Contemporary Art (DCA) initiating a significant increase in the presence of contemporary art in Europeana, the single access point to Europe’s cultural heritage. Approx. 30,000 contemporary  artworks will be digitised. Poland is represented by WRO.

Panel discussions within the Rencontres Internationales festival are a presentation forum for the major contemporary art institutions from the whole world. Art Workshops in Lublin

At the beginning of new season the Interactive Playground exhibition will be presented in two cities: Lublin and Tarnów.

Innovative solutions, interactive software for the youngest, experiments with forms of artistic expression introducing fundamental concepts in the field of art (texture, colour, perspective) and music (rythm, measure, harmony), and developing team working.

Welcome to the next presentation of works selected from the The Hidden Decade. Polish Video Art 1985-95 collection, organized by BWA in Bydgoszcz within the framework of the ‘Academy of Art’ series.

This time we are presenting a curatorial selection entitled “Analog/Digital”.

The third edition of the Podwodny Wrocław festival is launched at the Wrocław’s Bourgeois’es Brewery (44-48 Hubska St.).

Welcome to the presentations of WRO Expanded Tour – Polish and International Video Tour – given by Paweł Janicki.

In the course of the Interactive Playground exhibition, on 8th and 9th June, Ester Polak and Ivara van Bekkum – a pair of Dutch artists invited by WRO will conduct workshops addressed to children between 8-12 years of age. GPS_Drawing Workshops teach children to create art using contemporary tools – video and GPS.

GPS_Drawings, or Geotales – telling a story by means of navigation tools is an activity in the course of which the children create their own compositions using signals collected during a walk around the city. The compositions will be later presented during the Interactive Playground.

Please join us at the Talk-talk-talk conference taking place between 2-4.06.2010 in Budapest, Hungary during Crosstalk Festival. You will also have a chance to see the Word Pictures: Talking Films exhibition presented within the framework of the event.

The participants of the Video Indisputable session will include Wojtek Doroszuk and Piotr Krajewski as well as Eva Brunner-Szabo, Gerda Lampalzer (Medienwerkstatt Wien), Juha van Ingen, Seppo Renvall (FixC, Helsinki).

Polish video art created between 1985-1995 from the collection of WRO, gathered in the Hidden Decade project will be presented at the gallery of Poznań’s Academy of Fine Arts for four days in May.

After the presentation at Warsaw’s LeGuern Gallery, the neon, designed by Rafał Jakubowicz and based on the diagram-sketch by Jerzy Ludwiński from 1980 will be installed on the WRO Art Center’s façade. The title of the work refers to the exhibition SP. Sztuka Pojęciowa organized by Ludwiński at Pod Moną Lizą Gallery in Wrocław, 1970.

The art book by Piotr Bosacki, published recently by the authors and Poznań-based Transmission Foundation, is a unique publication, presenting a selection of literary miniatures inspired by the author’s dreams, filled with philosophical reflections based on everyday observations. Suffused with humour yet serious in its essence, the “dream book” is illustrated with drawings by Wojciech Bąkowski.
